Biggest Loser Week 2 and 3

Week 2 was a good weigh in. I lost another 7 pounds, for a grand total of 15. I was super excited and super motivated.

Week 3, I lost 3, so my total is up to 18 pounds in three weeks. Not too bad, but I was hoping for more.

This week has been challenging for me. Monday, I was super tired and had every intention of going to bed early. That did not happen, it was 2 am before I fell asleep. Then I had a really hungry day, and for the first time since starting Weight Watchers, I finished my daily points. Most days I don't even come close to finishing my points.

Now I don't know if that is the problem, should I be using all my points? Most days, I just can't eat any more.

Tonight though, I am feeling more motivated. I didn't have such a hungry day, and a friend suggested that a group of us start doing hot yoga, and that got me thinking about doing that, and then starting to take some water aerobics classes, and going to some open lap swim sessions. So I'm going to do the hot yoga first then I'm going to try and go to one other activity once a week. I would love to do more, but I also want to be home with my kids and husband.

Thank you to everyone who is encouraging me and keeping me motivated.

Biggest Loser Week 1

Tomorrow we start our biggest loser competition at work. And that means that I am 100% in full weight loss mode. I have tried somewhat this week, meaning that I controlled my portions and what I did eat, I attempted to make good choices. It's not too difficult, just a conscious effort.

What I really have accomplished is getting downstairs set up to start using the treadmill tomorrow. I have gone shopping and now have lots of healthy meals planned for this week, and lots of fruit and veggies to curb the extra hunger, because let's face it, when you start any type of diet or whatever you may call it, you get hungry, and you crave all that unhealthy stuff.

I've seen this on other blogs, or maybe watching Julie and Julia inspired me, but I'm going to try and share some of the yummy recipes I make. Here is what I made tonight. Now I won't actually have this until tomorrow, but it looks really good.

Cheesey Lasagna Roll-Up with spinach. I found this recipe on www.livestrong.com

Starting Out

I know that many people have made New Year's resolutions to loose weight, just like I have many, many times. I really didn't make a resolution, but more of a promise to myself. A promise to eat healthier, loose a crap-ton of weight, learn some new recipes, be active with my kids, be a better house keeper... basically a whole new start. Last year I told myself that I would loose the weight before I turned thirty, and wouldn't you know it, I'm almost 30 1/2, and I'm the heaviest I have ever been.

I have heard from many people, that you can not change your life easily, and you will need support along the way. I am going to use this blog as a way to share my victories and failures.

I am making an effort to get everything in order, to hit the ground running with my journey. Here is what I have done. I have a treadmill in the basement, with a TV so I can "power-walk" while I watch my shows. I have signed up for Weight Watcher and starting Jan 10, a group of us will be doing a biggest loser competition at work for 12 weeks. I have cleaned out all the candy/junk food from my desk. You gotta start somewhere.

For all of you that will read this, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, and motivate me to stay on track. And if you see me, chowing down on something that I shouldn't, slap me.
